Interestingly, he even met Sharon Stone who too was at the event and made an order after seeing the models displaying his collection. "She has asked me to design a white saree for her with gold work on it," says Manish, who for the third time got the fashion award at the function.

Manish is also turning to direction and is currently in the scripting stage for his musical. "I have not casted anyone yet. I will only approach them in June. But I can say that we''ll have four heros and three heroines," he adds.

For Manish, it all began with Jackson. Malhotra, on a whim, decided to design a special kurta for him. Without hesitation, Michael said yes.

Wearing his kurta, Michael received the Humanitarian Award and won the hearts of all by his acceptance speech.

"The attention and fortune showered on an individual celebrity is often immensely disproportionate to his or her achievements. I have been blessed with so much and have an opportunity to do what few others can but I believe it is more than an opportunity but a duty. I accept this award as a gesture of encouragement from the people of India and a commitment to do more for mankind."

Later, Manish met Jackson in Munich where he again designed for him. He also designed a pair of jeans for Campbell and through Parmeshwar Godrej he designed for Lady Andrew Webber for the Bombay Dreams premiere in London.
